Verify that the existing water supply and waste systems are sized to accommodate the added fixtures(see <br /> Minnesota Rules,part 47153800 and part 4715.2310). <br /> 6. Sufficient hot water shall be provided to adequately serve fixtures that require hot water for the proper <br /> functioning of the fixtures. <br /> 7. Requirements for water heater: <br /> a. Water heaters, including their controls and valves,must be installed so that they are capable of being <br /> reached safely and quickly for inspection, repair,or replacement without requiring the use of tools or the <br /> removal of obstacles,panels,or similar obstructions(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2240). <br /> b. A full-way valve must be provided on the cold water supply line to the water heater(see Minnesota <br /> Rules,part 4715.1800). <br /> c. Pressure/temperature relief valve must be piped and discharged to an approved location within 18 inches <br /> of the floor. <br /> 8. Consideration shall be made for the drain material receiving the dishwasher hot waste discharge if there is a <br /> booster heater in the dishwasher. If plastic pipe is used,the waste line shall be properly supported on <br /> continuous metal strips for the entire length. <br /> 9. Equipment installation requirements: <br /> a. All water treahnent and food/beverage equipment along with supply piping for potable water must <br /> conform to the applicable NSF drinking water standards. <br /> b. Water supply piping serving food or beverage equipment which is not part of a certified equipment <br /> meeting NSF standards must be installed with code approved material for water distribution piping. <br /> 10. Requirements for indirect waste piping: <br /> a Indirect waste piping from multiple food/ice storage bins shall discharge independently to the drainage <br /> system. <br /> b. Indirect piping ftom the coolers/equipment shall be at least 3/4 inches in size. <br /> c. Indirect waste piping from devices and equipment not regularly classified as plumbing fixtures must be <br /> of code approved material and be trapped(MN Rules,part 4715.1510). <br /> 11. In all buildings other than dwellings, shutoff valves shall be installed which permit the water supply to all <br /> equipment in each separate room or to each individual fixture to be shut off without interference with the <br /> water supply to any other room or portion of the building(see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.1800, subpart 6). <br /> 12. Referred to additional general requirements and information dated 4/2012 in the attached handout for the <br /> project. <br /> NOTE(S): <br /> 1. The scope of this project consists of the installation of dishwasher,floor drains,prep sinks, pot and scullery <br /> sink,hand sinks, and adding one toilet/lavatory in upper level. All other restrooms/fixtures are existing. <br /> 2. This facility will be served by existing municipal water and sewer services. <br />
