The fireplace installation was O.K. with the <br /> exception of the placement of insulation and vapor barrier in the wall behind the unit. <br /> The insulation and vapor barrier were haphazardly placed with large gaps and spaces. It <br /> was covered with sheetrock scraps that were uneven and overlapping. The building code <br /> requires insulation and vapor barrier, however it does not require sheetrock behind the <br /> fireplace. It is however suggested that sheetrock be used to keep the insulation and vapor <br /> barrier in place over the years.
