The Variance requested is to the existing Septic Setbacks as required by the City of <br /> Orono, Ordinance 38 section 58-SO item 2 subsection a. The following is a list of the specific parts, as <br /> shown on the highlighted survey, of the Variance request. <br /> l. Variance from the standard septic tank setback for a wetland of 50' to a setback of 25' for (2) <br /> 1500 gallon settling tanks and connecting drain lines as shown on the attached highlighted <br /> survey. <br /> 2. Variance from the standard septic tank setback for a wetland of 50' to a setback of 25' for (1) <br /> 2000 gallon pumping station tank and pump lines as shown on the attached highlighted survey. <br /> 3. Variance from the standard septic soil treatment area setback for a wetland of 50' to a setback of <br /> 16' to the east edge of Absorption Field "A" and any connection lines as shown on the attached <br /> highlighted survey. <br /> 4. Variance from the standard septic soil treatment area setback for a wetland of 50' to a setback of <br /> 16' to the east edge and 34' on the west edge of Absorption Field "B" and any connection lines <br /> as shown on the attached highlighted survey. <br /> This `request for a variance' is for the purpose of constructing a septic system that will service a new <br /> home to be built on this existing lot of record. As indicated on the City of Orono, Resolution of the <br /> City Council #6189, granted CUP of January 22, 2013, the existing house was removed in order to <br /> sell the lot and construct a new home. As stated in the Findings, item #4, subsection a-d, the lot was <br /> found to comply with the comprehensive plan for use, clean fill was used and grades approved from the <br /> City Engineer, property can adequately be served by well and septic, and the Owners' septic contractor <br />
