K1int indicated they are willing to work with the neighbor on the screening and that
they are allowed a 6-foot fence in that area, which would help bloek headlihts shining onto the
neighbor's property.
Gvstafson stated as it relates to the width of the driveway.the nsrrowest width they typically go to is 12
feet,w}iiah only gives a three-foot flare on each side. Gustafson stated fhey do not wam to make the
corner tottight, which would result in pxrplc driving on the la.wn.
McMillaz►stated she understands the desine far offtrcet parking but tat her concera was with the width
of ttie clriveway. McMillan stated the site does allow fcir quite a bit of m,ovment af cars but tht she dces
not want it to be exceesive.
K1int atated in their view this was the better scenario since it did not give the appearance of having a
parking lot or garage in front. The proposed desig,n gives more of the illustcation of a ssnall street rnnning
thmugh the pmpty rathet than a large patcof asphlt in front of thearage.
Carnick stated the w$ikway leading to the house fram the stet scems to be redundant.
Klint stated the property ouvner was rather adamant about that and that it is a more pedestrian oriented
entrance to tbe lat rather than just the drivewsy.
Custafson stated itvely ialandscapig elemet and is msant to be welcaming.
Levang eslced arhat it wi11 be consttuctsd of.
Kliindicated it most likcly would be a gaver of some sort.
Levang statd she understands the point of it being more welcoming for the neighbors.
Walsh stated he appreciates Mr.Winston's comments about the Planning Commission and how there has
not bcen any concems raised about the sethack variance. Walsh stated he would like to set the t+ecord
straight and that he did hv+e issue with a couple of the variances ad that the Council did not have
agnement on the two curb cuts and the side sefback issue. Walsh stated buying a corner lat is not a
practir,al difficulty in most people's eyes since the person knowwhat they are buying. VVhile the
Council did nat give a specific number on the setbaek,Walsh stated he was haping ta see a complete
redesign with anty one curb cut rather than simply a 3-foot reduction in the eneroachment.
Walsh notd Mr.Winston also said that this site compels the need for variances but in 1us viev it does
not. Walsh statd if someone wants to put something on a lot that daes ndt fit, then it becomes an issue.
Waish stated he is not adverse to a big house but that the applieant should try to fit the house on the lot
without variances.
