REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, AUGUST 11, 1980 Page 34 The following memo was prepared by John Gerhardson, BEDERWOOD PARK* Public Works Coordinator, concerning Bederwood Park Ball Diamond ball diamond estimates dated August 7, 1980 , which Buesing Bros. , Inc. state s: On June 30 , 1980 , the Orono Council directed staff to acquire bids for construction _of a baseball diamond at Bederwood Park. The City of Orono sent bid proposals to five contractors in the area of which three were returned. The following is the bid tabulation: Volkenant and Sons, Inc . $10 , 590 Illies and Sons $ 9 ,050 Buesing Brothers, Inc. S 7,075 Therefore, it is my recommendation to award the project to Buesing Brothers, Inc . for an amount of $7,075 and that this project be funded through the Park Dedication Fund. Council Meeting - August 11 , 1980 Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the low bid of Buesing Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $7,075 to construct the ball diamond at the Bederwood Park. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . , The following memo was prepared by Melvin Kilbo, Chief NAVARRE PARKING LOT of Police, concerning the Municipal parking lot in Navarre, dated August 8 , 1980 , which states: As we discussed, I have done research and discussed with John Gerhardson, Public Works Coordinatory, the parking lot problem. Attached is a proposed ordinance amendment. You may want to change the last item to _ read "Upon the recommendation of the City Administrator" . Council Meeting - August 11, 1980 Mayor Van Nest moved, Hurr seconded, to amend Chapter 53 of the Orono Code, and also to submit a letter to the Metropolitan Transit Commission requesting the existing bench, at the intersection of County Roads #15 and #19, to be removed. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . The following memo was prepared by John Gerhardson, pARK & RIDE* Public Works Coordinator, dated July 30 , 1980 , which states: The Metropolitan Transit Commission has recently installed a passenger waiting shelter in the parking lot of Keaveny ' s Drug Store.
