REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, AUGUST 11, 1980 Page 32 <br /> Allied Blacktop, Inc . was the lowest in price for 1980 SEALCOAT PROGRA <br /> oil and additional equipment rental. (Continued) <br /> The additional cost for the program including <br /> equipment rental, will be $3 ,886 for a total program <br /> cost of $43, 886 . <br /> I recommend approval of the additional $3 , 886 to <br /> allow completion of this program. <br /> Council Meeting - August 11, 1980 � <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the additional <br /> amount of $3 , 886 to complete the 1980 Sealcoat Program. <br /> Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . � <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, entered into the TRAFFIC SIGNAL* <br /> record the following letter to Gale Lennon, Super- Old Crystal Bay Rd. <br /> intendent of Orono School District 278 , dated #12 <br /> August 4 , 1980 , which states: <br /> "The City of Orono has completed appraisal work on <br /> the properties affected by the proposed installation <br /> of the traffic signal and street widening at the Old <br /> Crystal Bay Road and Highway #12 intersection. <br /> The estimated costs to acquire right-of-way, as per <br /> our appraisal of the subject properties, is $11, 157. <br /> During our meetings in February and March of this year, ' <br /> it was agreed that the Orono School District would <br /> contribute the amount of land required of the School <br /> District to construct the traffic signal and that the <br /> School District and the City of Orono would share in <br /> the right-of-way costs on a 50-50 basis. <br /> The appraisal of subject properties results in a total <br /> valuation of loss in land values in the amount of <br /> $11, 157. This is an increase of $3 , 757 esti.mated to <br /> you in my March 13 , 1980 letter and to date, is only <br /> an estimate until each property owner has approved <br /> their individual appraisals of land loss. <br /> The Orono City Council has not received an official <br /> commitment from the Orono School District to participate <br /> in the funding of anticipated right-of-way costs and, <br /> at this tima, will not proceed with further right-of-way <br /> acquisition until we have that assurance. <br /> In order to meet time commitments on this project, would <br /> you reply to our request as soon as possible?" <br /> End of letter (Continued) <br />
