Robb, Jr. <br /> concerning the speed limit on Shadywood Road in <br /> the Navarre area. Motion, Ayes (4 ) - Nays (0) . <br /> Mayor Van Nest reviewed events leading to the COUNCIL CANDIDATES <br /> vacancy on the City Council and Council ' s policy <br /> to replace these vacancies with qualified Planning <br /> Commission members that are familiar with present <br /> City codes and regulations. <br /> A letter was sent to Mr. Steve Wilson and Mr . Gregg <br /> Hannah, members of the Planning Commission, who <br /> have indicated by letter their interest to serve <br /> on the City Council, requesting them to appear <br /> this evening to discuss with you their qualifications <br /> to fill the current vacant Council position. <br /> Letter received from C. Steven Wilson, dated April 11, <br /> 1980 , states: <br /> "I understand that Walter Massengale ' s resignation <br /> as a member of the Orono City Council will be accepted <br /> and his seat will be declared vacant at the City <br /> Council meeting on April 14 , 1980 . <br /> I would like to be considered to fill that vacancy. <br /> I have lived in Orono for fifteeen years, have served <br /> with my wife as officers of the Orono elementary <br /> school PTA and am currently serving on the Orono <br /> Planning Commission. <br /> I would be happy to discuss my views and hopes for <br /> Orono with you and other members of the Council at <br /> your convenience.
