� REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, APRIL 14 , 1980 Page 49 Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the GARDEN TRACTOR* City Council with a memo prepared by John Gerhardson, Public Works Coordinator, dated March 24 , 1980, which states: For 1980 , the Parks and Recreation Department budgeted funds for equipment purchase. It has been determined that the garden tractor mower is ready for replacement due to the fact that the mower deck attachment has been replaced once, the engine has been replaced once and the replace- ment engine has been overhauled once. The present garden tractor mower is used only for cutting grass in the summer. It is my opinion that a more heavy duty tractor be pur- chased with the necessary attachments for winter use. Therefore , I have attached a specification for one "Garden Tractor with attachments" and recommend to advertise and receive bids for one garden tractor with attachments as per the specifications. Council Meeting - April 14 , 1980 Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the date BID OPENING DATE* of May 2 , 1980 at 10: 00 A. M. for the bid opening May 2 , 1980 - 10 : 00 A.M. for the purchase of a garden tractor for the Parks & Recreation Department. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . Dick Benson, City Administrator, informed the City BERNARD KOGAN PROPERTY* Council that the vacant lot adjacent and south of 1365 Brown Road South the post office in Crystal Bay is owned by Mr. Kogan, , is for sale and would provide us with additional land for future City uses. The City Council instructed me to proceed with an evaluation of the lot which is unbuildable in its present state and it has been determined by Mr. Glenn Hawkyard, our City Appraiser, that the value is $6 , 000 . Based upon Mr. Hawkyard' s appraisal, I recommend Council approval of my negotiations with Mr. Kogan; the final evaluation of $6, 000. Council Meeting - April 14 , 1980 Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the above report concerning Bernard Kogan Property, 1365 Brown Road South, and instructed Dick Benson to negotiate with Mr. Kogan.
