REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, APRIL 14 , 1980 Page 43 <br /> Paurus moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the 201 PREFERRED FACILITIE� <br /> report by Dick Benson, City Administrator, regard- (Continued) <br /> ing the 201 Preferred Facilities Plan meeting of <br /> April 7 , 1980. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Mayor Van Nest drafted the following letter to HOLLY ACRES EASEMErdT <br /> Mr. Curtis A. Conrad, Banco Mortgage regarding LETTER <br /> Holly Acres, John S. Guthrie, 275 Hollander Road, <br /> A_pril 15 , 1980, which states: <br /> "At the time of the subdivision of Holly Acres , <br /> the City of Orono was granted an underlying public <br /> easement for road development and maintenance <br /> purposes. The City negotiated this easement and " <br /> development contract with Mrs. Roy Hollander, the <br /> developer, to ensure that the road serving Holly <br /> Acres would be built to conform to City specifications <br /> and the developer was required by the City to post <br /> a bond to ensure that these specifications were <br /> met. The Maintenance Agreement requires that the <br /> road be maintained by the residents of Holly Acres <br /> and gives the City the power and right to maintain <br /> the road and to assess the property owners for <br /> the cost thereof should the maintenance of the road <br /> fall below acceptable City standards. Finally, <br /> the City requires that the road be open to the <br /> public for providing police, fire and other public <br /> services and that the road will be maintained by <br /> the residents to meet these requirements. " <br /> End of letter <br /> Council i�eetinq - �pril 14 , 1980 <br /> Paurus moved, Butler seconded, to approve the <br /> above letter to Curtis Conrad, Banco Mortgage, <br /> concerning Holly Acres. DZotion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the CRYSTAL BAY POST OFFICE <br /> City Council with his letter to the United States LETTERS <br /> Post Office Postmaster Gene H. Kreienbrink dated <br /> March 18, 1980. <br /> Letter - Page 44 <br /> The following letter was received from Senator <br /> George S. Pillsbury, dated March 27, 1980: <br /> "Thanks for the letter about an Orono zip code. <br /> I certainly would like to see one. <br /> Since this issue is a Federal one, suggest you <br /> write our U.S. Senators Durenberger or Boschwit�., <br /> or Congressman Hagedorn.
