Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Alan Olson, City Planner, entered into the record COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING <br /> the following Comprehensive Planning Schedule SCHEDULE* <br /> dated April 9, 1980 , which states: <br /> Metro Policy - The attached letter from the Metro- <br /> politan Council discusses their proposed policy on <br /> submittal deadline extensions. Current mandated <br /> deadline is July 1, 1980. The Council has reviewed <br /> very few plans and is preparing for a flood of ' <br /> extension requests. <br /> The proposed policy is shown on Page 4. Apparently, <br /> they will almost automatically make extensions of <br /> 120 days to November l, 1980 - see Page 6 . <br /> Aside: See top of Page 4 for new Metro Policy on <br /> storm water planning. <br /> Current Status - IRC is now completing the final <br /> mapping and I am about half-way through one last <br /> editorial rewrite to put the plan into a consistent <br /> format. With the comments from the joint Planning <br /> Commission and Park Commission work session last <br /> night, I see no reason why we cannot meet the <br /> following schedule. <br /> Recommended Schedule - I recommend that Orono not <br /> apply for any deadline extension but that we instead <br /> pursue the following schedule: <br /> April 21, 1980 Planning Commission meeting - call a <br /> public hearing for citizen input and plan review <br /> for regular Planning Commission meeting of May 19 , <br /> 1980. <br /> Planning Commission - following public hearing, <br /> Planning Commission must adopt and recommend plan <br /> to Council by resolution of a majority of the members. <br /> June 2 , 1980 Council meeting - City Council to adopt <br /> resolution formally accepting plan and forwarding it <br /> to Metropolitan Council and other cities for simultaneous <br /> review. <br /> June 15-25, 1980 - final mailing of plan. <br /> Council Meeting - April 14 , 1980 <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the Comprehensive <br /> Planning Schedule as stated above.
