REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, FEBRUARY 25 , 1980 Page 9 <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the P•4INNETONKA BLUFFS, ORONO <br /> City Council with the following memo concerning LANE, WEST FERNDALE, #15 <br /> the 1980 Sanitary Sewer Construction plans PROPOSED SEWERS <br /> dated February 20 , 1980 , which states: <br /> The City of Orono is preparing to construct <br /> sanitary sewers in the Minnetonka Bluffs, West <br /> Ferndale Road, Orono Lane , County Road #15 , <br /> North Shore Drive, and Medina-Orono-Long Lake <br /> areas this summer. The projects, although <br /> separate in nature , can be coordinated in one <br /> construction year to reduce construction costs. <br /> We are discussing the projects with our fiscal <br /> people to determine available funding. <br /> The feasibility report submitted to the City <br /> for sanitary sewer improvements for the P�inne- <br /> tonka Bluffs , jaest Ferndale Road, Orono Lane, <br /> and County Road #15 is not complete and has <br /> to be reviewed by the City Engineer, City Public <br /> �aorY.s Coordinator, and the City Planner. Channel <br /> crossings, lift station applications , and force <br /> main applications have not been adequately reviewed <br /> for Council adoption. Statutory requirements <br /> will have been met in that the City Council <br /> on February 25, 1980 approves the feasibility <br /> report in order to call a public hearing. Final <br /> design, approving plans and specifications, will <br /> occur after our public hearing process is finalized. <br /> In order to adhere to a schedule , it would be <br /> timely to request the City Engineer by resolution <br /> to initiate a feasibility study of the proposed <br /> Hennepin County #51 sewer project. �ae can hold <br /> another public information meeting followed by a <br /> public hearing during and after the drafting and <br /> approval of that study. <br /> Council Meeting - February 25 , 1980 <br /> Glenn Cook, City Engineer, reviewed Alternate #1 <br /> and Alternate #2 of the Feasibility Report for <br /> Sanitary Sewer Improvements for r7innetonka Bluffs, <br /> West Ferndale Road, Orono Lane, and County Road <br /> #15. <br /> Diann Goetten, 1385 Fox Street, was present to <br /> review the proposed plan. <br /> Mayor Van Nest stated that the City wants to <br /> assure that all health standards are met. We <br /> want to be sure that the City is presented all <br /> of the facts to assure adequate review of all <br /> construction and future service costs to justify <br /> cost effective alternatives. The P7innetonka <br /> Bluffs, Orono Lane, West Ferndale Road, and <br /> County Road #15 have to be reviewed individually <br /> and wholly to explore unique characteristics (Continued) <br />
