REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, FEBRUARY 25 , 1980 Page 19 Mr. Burt Peterson, Industrial Engineer, employed CRYSTAL BAY POST OFFICE by the Postal Department, called this afternoon (Continued) commenting that he and his staff had completed their review of the City of Orono postal delivery service and determined that attempting to incorporate a routing system for the City of Orono using a Long Lake zip code was not feasible , which Means, the existing 82 box holders now using the Crystal Bay Post Office would convert to a rural route when the office is terminated and we would not have a City of Orono address as originally discussed. Dick Benson, City Administrator, entered into the VO-TECH SCHOOLS #287 record the following concerning the Vo-Tech Schools [aest Campus #287 West Campus, dated February 20 , 1980, which states: Attached are several resolutions relating to future construction of the #287 West Campus Vo-Tech and conditional use permits allowed for current uses. It appears that there is renewed interest to construct a [4est Campus and that .Orono' s position should again be submitted as a resolution before the April 8, 1980 #287 Board meeting. Council P�eeting - February 25, 1980 Mayor Van Nest commented that an updated resolution and letter to the school district and Vo-Tech restating Orono' s concerns and position should be on the March 10, 1980 Council agenda for Council approval. Mayor Van Nest reviewed his meeting with the SOUTHWEST PLANNING STUD� Pollution Control Agency and Orono staff on P.C.A. Meeting February 19 , 1980 commenting that a letter is being drafted surunarizing Orono' s position concerning the Southwest Planning Study and the Maple Plain Wastewater Treatment Plant. A letter to the M.P.C.A. will be entered on the P�arch 10 , 1980 Council agenda. Mayor Van Nest reviewed the Regional Water Quality REGIONAL WATER QUALITY Management Plan submitted to us by the Metropolitan riANAGEPiENT PLAN Council which includes recommendations that enhance Orono ' s land use policies and future planning goals.
