. � ,` . • CITY OF ORONO Regular Meeting of the Orono Council, 7 : 00 P.M. February 25, 1980 The Orono Council met on the above date with the following members present: Mayor Van Nest, Councilmembers Hurr, Massengale, and Paurus. Absent: Councilmember Butler. Also present: City Administrator Benson, City Planner Olson, City Attorney Malkerson, City Engineer Cook, and Planning Commission member Jabbour. City Administrator Benson administered the OATH OF OFFICE Oath of Officer to Michael Kirnyczukinewly Michael Kirnyczuk appointed Police Officer. Hurr moved, Paurus seconded, to approve the CONSENT AGENDA* Consent Agenda* with all staff data and supportive information to be included in the Minutes in the sequence they occur. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . Hurr moved, Paurus seconded, to approve the MINUTES* Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 30 , January 30 , 1980 1980 . No comments from the Park Commission. PARK COMMISSION Councilmember Paurus , Orono' s representative LMCD REPORT to the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District, commented on issues before the LMCD Board. No comments from the Planning Commission. PLANNING COMMISSION Alan Olson, City Planner, entered into the COMPREHENSIVE PLAN record the following concerning the City of Maple Plain Maple Plain's Comprehensive Plan,dated January 25 , 1980 , which states: Maple Plzin is a City of 680 acres , just over one square mile, with 1, 460 residents. The City contains a significant amount of industrial develop- ment in two areas ,plus commercial developrnent in the "downtown" core and a strip along Highway 12 . There is a large undeveloped wetlands in the north- west corner along Pioneer Creek. (Continued)
