' RLGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JANUARY 30 , 1980 Page 32 <br /> The following memo was prepared by John Gerhardson, ANNUAL STREET COST <br /> Public Works Coordinator, concerning the Annual City REPORT - 1979* <br /> Street Cost Tabulation Report for 1979 , dated <br /> January 10, 1980 , which states: <br /> The enclosed material contains a complete tabulation <br /> of all City streets in reference to cost accounting <br /> of all extraordinary maintenance which includes <br /> expenditures for blacktop paving, street gravel <br /> and rock, dust control, sealing programs and the <br /> distribution of MSA funds. <br /> Funds expended for routine maintenance such as <br /> blacktop patching, ice and snow control (sand & <br /> salt) , culverts , signs and drainage control are <br /> not included in this report. <br /> This type of accounting, which was requested by <br /> the City Council in previous years, is very <br /> meaningful when documenting expenditure of funds <br /> that are budgeted for yearly maintenance costs. <br /> This report, and our yearly traffic count analysis, <br /> shows us where and why street maintenance costs <br /> are escalating each year. <br /> Fire lanes, park drives and beach areas are not <br /> included in this document. <br /> Council Meeting - January 30 , 1980 <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the Annual <br /> City Street Cost Tabulation Report for 1979 . <br /> Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0) . <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the Final CD�� - YEAR VI FUNDS* <br /> Cost Tabulation Year VI of the Community Development <br /> Block Grant Program in the amount of $62 , 664 d�te� <br /> January 10, 1980. Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0) . <br /> The following letter was received from Long Lake CABLE TV LETTER <br /> Mayor Diane Gallagher, dated January 23 , 1980 , Long Lake Mayor <br /> which states : <br /> "Recently, the Long Lake City Council heard a <br /> presentation by Warner Cable TV. The information <br /> presented was quite interesting and all of us <br /> realized that cable TV has much to offer. <br /> (Continued) <br />
