Also, Mr. Duehn (Continued) is also storing boats on the eastern part of the property behind his house. KI: & Kompany employs five full-time employees (3 for engine repair, 2 for boat refinishing) . In the winter, the operation slows down to two �ull-time employees. The hours of operation are 7: 00 A. P4. to 6 : 00 P.M, but in the sur,uner, it could extend to 8: 00 P.M. depending upon work load. A limited amount of auto repair is carried on in the winter months. The issues are: 1) to decide whether or not boat repair is the same or similar use as auto body repair; if so, the conditional use permit for non-conforming land use can be continued; 2) to , decide whether or not the boat storage near Mr. Duehn' s house is a separate use or a continuation of the boat repair business; 3) if either of these land uses are acceptable, to set conditions necessary to protect the neighbor' s property interest. Staff inet with r2r. Katcher, rsr. Duehn and four neighbors on the property on August 3, 1979 . All neigtibors were in favor of issuing the conditional use permit for the business as it now operates, including the boat storage in the rear. None had any complaints. I concur with the Planning Commission recommendation to approve the conditional use permit except that annual review is probably not necessary, and the comments about boat storage height are vague. Perhaps a limit on the number of boats, or a stipulation that the larger boats be stored behind the garage along the north property line ratlier than in the center of the yard, would be more definitive. - Council Meeting - August 14 , 1979 , Mr. Duehn and P�sr. Katcher were present concerning their coriditional use permit for 1140 North Arm Drive. Massengale moved, Butler seconded, to table the rec�uest for a conditional use permit at 1140 North Arm Drive for KK & Kompany for more fact findings concerning the uses and for staff to Prepare a resolution on the matter.
