REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JULY 24, 1979 Page 34 Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the SPECIAL APPROPRIATION* City Council with a memo from John Gerhardson Golf Course � Public Works Coordinator, dated July 18, 1979 , Septic System which states: At the end of the 1978 golfing season, we experienced problems with the septic system at the Orono Golf Course. It was determined that the system is of such an '� age and size that it is no longer adequate for the amount of use at the present time. Therefore, at the direction of Orono Septic System Inspector, P-Sike Gaffron, we have received bids for a new system as per the necessary require- nents. 1. Jerry Johnson Excavating - $2 ,480 2. Widmer Bros. , Inc. - $2, 195 Therefore, it is my recommendation to award the bid to Widmer Bros. , Inc. to install a new septic system at the Orono Golf Course as per code requirements in the amount not to exceed $2 ,195. In the 1979 golf course budget, $4,000 was budgeted for equipment purchase of which $2 ,495 has been spent. This leaves a balance in the capital outlay of $1,490 that could be applied to the installation of the septic system. That would mean that $700 would have to be paid by special appropriati�ns fron the contingency fund.
