REGULAR i1EETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, 1�IAY 8, 1979 Page 7 <br /> P4ayor Van Nest inforr.�ed the City Council of a PROCLAP'IATION <br /> � Proclamation concerning the Psinnetonka Center Minnetonka Art Center <br /> of Arts and Education, which states: <br /> "Let it be known to all those present here in the <br /> Village of Orono and the tolanship of Crystal Bay <br /> and to those beyond in the towns and cities of <br /> Hennepin County and in the State of ?iinnesota <br /> TIiAT Saturda��,D7ay 12, 1979 is proclairlec2 Ded�cation <br /> Day for the t4innetonka Center of Arts and Education, <br /> and <br /> THAT on this day at 2 : 00 P.M. David Rock�feller, Jr. , <br /> Chairman of Art, rducation and �r►ericans shall assist <br /> Pdrs. Gretchen �uie, First Lady of Minnesota, in <br /> unlocking the new studios of the P�iinnetonka Center of <br /> Arts and Education, and <br /> THAT this act not only confirms the creativ� spirit <br /> of our artists but also symbolizes the need to nourish <br /> our lives with beauty, and <br /> THAT as PZayor of the Village of Orono, I , Brad Van <br /> Nest, do proclaim and know that the Minnetonka Center <br /> of Arts & Education shall continue to inspire the <br /> cor.�u,lunities in the Twin City area and beyond by <br /> providing a place of inspiration for their members <br /> and for others. " <br /> Butler moved, i2ayor Van Nest seconded, to accept <br /> the above Proclamation. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Councilmember Massengale left the Council Chambers. <br /> Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, to proclaim HANDICAPPED SCOUTS WEE <br /> the week of June 4 , 1979 as the Iiandicapped Scouts <br /> Paper Drive Week. Motion, Ayes (5) - riays (0) . <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the CitV CASCO POINT TRAFFIC <br /> Council with a memo concerning the Casco Point PROBLED4* <br /> traffic problem, dated May 4 , 1979, which states: <br /> On April 25, 1979 at 7: 30 P.t2. , we attended a meeting <br /> at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to discuss with <br /> Casco Point residents their concerns with numerous <br /> traffic problerns at that area. The results of that <br /> r.ieeting were: <br /> 1. Install "Hidden Drive" sign <br /> 2. Review Dunwoody-Casco Point Road intersection <br /> for controls and three-way stop sign <br /> 3. Review possibility of striping <br /> 4. Review speed limit reductions � <br /> (Continued) <br />
