. P.EvULAR P'iEETING OF THE OROr]O COUPICIL, P4ARCH 13, 1979 Page 31
PIassengale noved, ilayor Van Nest seconded, to RESOLUTION #1020
adoPt Resolution #1020 , A Resolution Concerning DNR Prooerty - Ring
Exchange For Land Owned By State O I7innesota - Route
Ring Route Project 79-1. iotion, Ayes (4) -
Nays (0) .
Pesek roved, i4assencale seconded, to apnoint APPOINTPENT
Tinothy Adams, 1801 est Farm Road, to the Timothy Adarls
Planning Commission to fill the unexpired terr.l
of Richard Hassel, iZotion, Ayes (4) - P1ays (0) .
Appointments to the Iuman Rights Cormnission Jere HUP4AN RIGHTS COr1MISSION
tabled.
Dick Benson, City Adr.linistrator, inforrled the CITY ACCOUNTING SYSTEP1
City Council tlZat the data processing system LOGIS
that we now have with the raple Plain Corlpany
has proved to be completely unsatisfactory.
The company does not have cualified people
akrar_ to satisfy our requirements, which has
created sufficient problems for us to warrent
looking elsewhere for this service.
The LOGIS system which was formed seven years
ago, of which we are a memher, has the best
service available and qualified personnel to
rieet our present needs and to eventually alloa
us to fully coriputerize our reporting and neet
the riandatory requirements passed by the State
Legislature.
The projected cost is within our capabilities
and the change to LOGIS will have significant
benefits in the ensuing years.
1e have considered other computer conPanies
but only LOGIS has cualified personnel that are
available at any tirie to assist us in our daily
data processing needs.
Since we are now an associate mernber of LOGIS , a
letter from us will change our mertbership to an
operating associate and within a month we will be
in service. Because of the possibility of not
having a quorurl at our 2larch 2 7, 19 79 Council
rleeting and the need to act as soon as possihle,
I recommend Council approval of LOGIS service
ihis is the only action required.
(Continued)
