Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the REVENUE SHARING BANK City Council with a memo frori Thorlas Kuehn, Finance ACCOUNT - Close Director, dated December 7, 1978 , which states: At the inception of the Federal Revenue Sharing program in 1972, the City established a separate revenue sharing checking account for the deposit . and disbursertent of these monies. The City also established the Revenue Sharing Fund within its books and records. �ahile it is necessary to main- tain a separate fund to insure proper accounting for the receipt and disbursement of the federal r�onies, it is not necessary to maintain a separate checking account also. By keeping the separate bank account, it r.leans transfer of these monies to reimburse other funds for budgeted revenue sharing expenditures that must be done by check rather than by journal entry. It also makes investing the monies more coraplicated and also necessitates _ a separate bank reconciliation each month. Because of the problems mentioned, it is requested that Council authorize the City Treasurer to close the Revenue Sharing bank account and r.taintain it, henceforth, within the General bank account. Dick Benson, City Administrator, inforr►ed the RECODIFICATION City Council that he had reviewed Bruce Malkerson' s letter of November 29, 1978 outlining his proposal on behalf of Pophan, Haik, Schnobrich, Kaufman & Doty to recodify Orono' s City Code. I am in agreement with Bruce' s proposal. Our primary concern has been to accept a proposal that will allow a codifier to commence work ir.unediately in chronological sequence, revising and preparing revisions as legally required. t4r. Plalkerson has assured r.me that his office is prepared to proceed with the complete recodification process using the format as outlined by lsunicipal Ordinance Codifiers, Inc. � Council P�ieeting - December 18, 1978 Paurus moved, Mayor Van Nest seconded, to accept the proposal of Pophara, Haik, Schnobrich, �:aufman & Doty firm to recodify the City ordinances.
