P��otion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . <br /> The riutual aid resolution was tabled until the i�UTUAL AID <br /> neeting of tdovember 28, 1978 for more inforr,iation. <br /> A memo from John Gerhardson, Public Works PETITION <br /> Coordinator, concerning a petition for silent U7oodhill Avenue <br /> policemen on Woodhill Avenue was presented to <br /> the City Council, dated November 8, 1978, which <br /> states : - <br /> On October 25, 1978 , the City of Orono r_eceived a <br /> petition from residents on Woodhill Avenue and <br /> the surrounding area requesting the installation <br /> of "silent policemen" on Woodhill Avenue. <br /> Since July of 1978, there has been several dis- <br /> cussions with the residents of �aoodhill Avenue and <br /> the S�oodhill Country Club about that street. <br /> It seems that because of traffic congestion on <br /> County Road 15 at the entrance to Woodhill Country � <br /> Club, the country club chose to open the rear <br /> entrance to the club from Woodhill Avenue. <br /> This has increased the amount of traffic on Woodhill <br /> Avenue and the residents feel that the country club <br /> had no legal right to use that street as an alternate <br /> entrance. <br /> I have received correspondence fror_t one of the Wood- <br /> hill Avenue resident' s attorney and also from the <br /> [aoodhill Country Club. Thorfinnson, <br /> P�Ir. Charles Bellows, Woodhill Country Club, and r4ayor <br /> Van Nest have a meeting to determine the best approach <br /> to solving the situation. <br />
