Motion, Ayes (4) -
Nays (0) . .
Additional information was presented by P4r. Alan BILL WEAR SE4ER & aATER
Olson, City. Planner, concerning the William Jear (Page 12)
request for sewer and water service frori Long Lake.
Mr. Olson stated that the basement was not included
in the original building permit but was discovered
upon inspection of the building. The State Building
Code requires fire sprinkling of such a basement.
Mr. Wear was given the option of installing the
fire sprinklers or providing direct access to the
basement from the outside. Fire sprinkling is the
preferred method of protection but requires a large
water supply available only by connection to the
Long Lake municipal system. This connection occurs
now because Pr. Wear is ready to have people move
into one part of the building but Orono cannot
issue a certificate of occupancy until the building
complies with the building code.
