They (Continued) have released 46 dogs to Orono owners. They are now charging us $20 . 00 per each unclaimed dog and $2 . 00 impound fees per claimed dogs. I recommend use of The Dog House Boarding Kennels as our impound storage area. Council P�leeting - October 10, 1978 Mayor Van Nest moved, Paurus seconded, to table the request for a new kennel for impounded dogs � until other kennels have been investigated, and to approve the temporary use of r4.A.P.S . Chief of Police Kilbo entered into the record his LAW ENFORCEMENT INTERN* memo concerning a law enforcement intern, dated October 5, 1978, which states: The police department has a request from Mr. Mark Tomczyk of 12235 Highway 55, Plymouth, to complete his college work at Normandale Community College by serving a ten-week internship with our department. Mark is 20 years old and is in his second year at Normandale in law enforcement studies. He has extensive first aid training (E.M.T. ) and has attended a heavy reserve school and is at present a volunteer fire fighter with the Plymouth Fire Department. He will develop burglary and accident pin maps, ride in squadcars, participate in police reserve activities, and perform such activities as the Chief may direct. The following conditions will apply: l. The period of internship will run from October lst through the second week of December, a period of ten weeks at approximately 20 hours per week. 2. He will not be an employee of the City or guaranteed er►ployrient after the period. 3. Insurance coverage is not afforded by the college, our carrier will assume coverage under comprehensive liability policy upon receipt of a memo frorl us requesting coverage. 4. Evaluation and grading by the Chief of Police. 5. This will not create a position for future employment. (Continued)
