P4otion, Ayes (5) - <br /> Nays (0) . <br /> Councilmember P4assengale discussed the status WEST HENNEPIN <br /> of the Laest Hennepin Assessment District commenting ASSESSMENT DISTRICT <br /> that the representatives do have concerns with <br /> the effectiveness of the District at this time, <br /> considering that there appears to be some duplication <br /> in record keeping and other functions that Hennepin <br /> County is now doing. <br /> Mayor Van Nest r.loved, Butler seconded, to request <br /> Councilr.lember Massengale to contact Hennepin <br /> County Assessor to request their reaction to the <br /> District and the costs to contract with the <br /> County to provide necessary appraisal and assessing <br /> during the ensuing year. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, informed the City POLICE BUDGET* <br /> Council that because of overruns in the Police <br /> Budget, we have taken steps to curtail costs that <br /> would otherwise create deficits at the end of the <br /> year. We have reduced the working hours of our <br /> newest appointed patrolman, Mr. Bruce Anderson, <br /> to 20 hours per week, effective ir.unediately. As <br /> of January 1, 1979, he will continue at reduced <br /> hours through February. On March l, 1979 , he <br /> will go on a lay-off status.
