REGU,P,R MEETING OF TH ORONO COUNCIL, JUNE 15, 1978 Page 47
,
tir. William Reese, Jr. , president of Walter's WALTER'S PORT
Port Homeowners Association, discussed the
roposed Walter' s Port seawall commenting that
.4r. Alan Olsn's letter dated June 9, 1978 , is
a burden to us.
Mr. Alan Olson's letter of June 9, 1978 states:
"I am enclosing a copy of the City engineer' s
review of your west wall proposal. This item
is on the City Council agenda for status review
this coming Thursday, June 15, 1978.
Note that the stop work order placed on this
project will remain in force until the following
items are completed by the Association:
1. Submittal of certified engineering plans as
required by the City engineer (see copy of
his letter dated June 6, 1978, enclosed)
2. Submittal of a letter of credit to the City i
covering satisfactory completion of all work.
3. Submittal of a hold harmless agreement covering
work on public property.
1. Any City approval will be subject to documentation
of complete permits from all other agencies prior
to commencment of any construction (including
PIITDNR, MCWD, etc. ) "
nd of letter
Mr. Reese: We feel that it is too costly to
us to require certified engineering plans. We -
have deposited $15,000 in the Naarre Bank to
cover the cost of installing the proposed seawall.
We feel that Orono should be named as an interested
party. We also have approval of all other agencies.
Mr. Alan Olson commented that the permits that
we have received from other agencies are not clear
or complete.
Mr. Jim Olson, City Engineer, commented that the
City requires from the applicant certified approval
of the plans. We need detailed, qualified plans;
this we do not have. Mr. Olson referred to his
letter of June 6, 1978, which states:
Letter - Pages $ 9 (Continued)
