REGULAR MEETING OF T�iE ORONO COUNCIL, JUNE 15, 1978 Page 14 <br /> Staff - November 8, 1977 WEST SHOFtE LAFAYETTE BAY <br /> (Continued) <br /> I would like to suggest the Planning Commission and <br /> Council take into consideration some of the problems <br /> resulting from inadequate drainage along Kelly <br /> Avenue before Super Valu was built. <br /> Letter to Mr. Sween (Association spokesman) rec�uest- <br /> ing maps necessary before contacting Hennepin County <br /> Soils Conservation District regarding soil reports. <br /> Planning Commission Pseeting - November 21, 1977 <br /> Representative of dredging firm presented film <br /> on projected Mudcat vacuum method of dredging. <br /> Consensus of Commission appeared to be favorable <br /> toward the vacuum type of dredging.. <br /> Commission's greatest concern appeared to be <br /> relative to the proposed disposal of spoils: <br /> 1. Short distance from shoreline and effect on <br /> quality of water in lake. <br /> 2. Possible violation of our wetlands Ordinance <br /> No. 125 <br /> 3. Responsibility of supervision <br /> 4. Lack of detailed data for review purposes. <br /> Several members of the Association and Land <br /> Surveyor Gordon Coffin were present_ The <br /> Commission instructed the association to prepare <br /> and submit the following material so Council, <br /> Planning Commissi.on and staf.f could continue <br /> research and review: <br /> 1. Twenty-four maps of parcel being considered <br /> for disposal <br /> 2. Indicate proposed location of disposal of <br /> spoils on .these maps <br /> 3. Specifications for projected disposal <br /> operation (time schedule, volume of liquids , <br /> volume of solids) � <br /> 4. Design specifications of. protectiue berms <br /> 5. Existing and proposed grades <br /> 6. Responsi.bility of supervision <br /> 7. Letter of no ol�_�ection from fee owner of <br /> proposed site <br /> 8. Public or private damage claim responsibility <br /> 9. Mark proposed location of the disposal of <br /> spoils on the site with stakes and flags <br /> Planning Commission also instructed staff to forward <br /> site plan on to Hennepin County Soils Conservation <br /> District for soils map and report (determine wetlands) . <br /> _ The Commission also indicated some concern with the <br /> proposed filling relative to building site classification. <br /> (Continued) <br />
