Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0) . Mr. Alan Olson, City Planner, entered into the SUBDIVISION record the following infornation concerning a #309 subdivision request of Durwell Vetter, Bic� Island, B�g Island dated December 12, 1977, which states: Durwell Vetter P•4r. Clifford French was present to discuss the Hennepin County Park Reserve District acquisition plan for the whole of Big Island. The plan is not complete or approved by the District' s Board, as of yet, but Mr. French thought it would be early in January. • The acquisition sequence is planned to be as follows : l. Acquire the Gridley-Vetter property, the Veterans_ Carip and a connecting link between the Veterans' Camp and the existing Park holdings, all within a five-year phase out of the Camp. 2. Acquire the undeveloped properties (without structures) on the entire island. 3. Acquire the remaining developed properties over a total 30-50 year time period. The operating and recreational use plan is very prelir,iinary, but points toward maintaining the wildlife sanctuary and developing the Veterans ' Camp for day use. Discussion on the subdivision proposal centered on the fact that D•1r. Vetter has offered the land to two other parties who seem agreeable working , with the Park District, but those offers apparently expired before the application was ever made to the City. rhe r.latter was tabled until Piarch 13, 1978 for final Park Reserve District negotiation prior to the City action on the proposal.
