� REGULAR I�'IEETIIJG OF THE OROr10 COUPICIL, P'i11RCH 30, 1978 Page 10 <br /> The Council indicated that should the theatre open NAVARRE DRIVE-IN THEATRE <br /> for business, the requirements of the past year (Continued) <br /> would be enforced, including peririeter fencing. <br /> Council tabled the iter,t after requesting Mr. Lebewit? <br /> to send a letter outlining his present intentions <br /> for the property and specifically addressing the <br /> fence issue. <br /> Council t�eeting - P4arch 30, 1978 <br /> Mr. Braverman, President of rlorthwest Ciner�la, <br /> commented that he is still attempting to find <br /> other uses for this property and did meet with <br /> Roger Laurence from Tonka Toys and they will be <br /> meeting with a developer in the near future to <br /> discuss the uses of the propertv; meanwhile, we <br /> will upgrade this property, trim, cleanup the area, <br /> etc. and we want to reopen the theatre in r.mid-April. <br /> idayor Van Nest commented that there are sufficient <br /> findings of facts before us that have come before <br /> us the past year to support the need for fencing. <br /> If the theatre is to be part of the comr►unity, then <br /> a fence is needed. If the property is to be developed <br /> for other purposes, then we should know it now. <br /> Councilmember I�assengale: We do not have other <br /> proposals befor.e us. We have no choice but to <br /> be concerned with a fence. There is testimony to <br /> support need for a fence. <br /> Bruce PZalkerson, City Attorney: Conditioned to grant- <br /> ing a license, Council can regulate type, height, <br /> and length of fence. <br /> P4r. Randy -Bloom, attorney representing Northwest <br /> Cinema, cor.unented that a temporary �ence would not <br /> be appropriate. At this time, we do not plan on <br /> operating the theatre long enough to justify a <br /> permanent fence. <br /> Mayor Van tdest: I think that the time has corle to <br /> make a decision on the fence.. �^7e have been talking <br /> about it for many years. <br /> Councilmember Butler: We need a fence now and we <br /> should act now. The application is for a f_ull <br /> year' s operation, let' s not wait until the public <br /> comes to us again demanding action. <br /> Bruce Malkerson read Chapter #61, which states: (Continued) <br />
