RLULAR t1ETIPdG OF TIiE ORONO COUNCIL, JAPdUARY 23, 1978 Page 29
Therefore, I request that you aPprove the STUBBS BAY MARINA
previously submitted aoplication by February l, (Continued)
so that I can purchase the necessary permits
and materials.
P. S. The approved building, also to be built
this spring, will be used for repair and sales
only, not sunmer storage of boats .
End of letter
Letter received fror.l James PScClearv dated
January 19, 1978, which states: f
In accordance with your publication of Nover:ber 16 ,
1977 regarding adoption of Flood levations for
the City of Orono, I would like to submit the
attached topographic survey.
Subject survey, in. r.ty opinion, more clearly
depicts the 931 foot elevation as pertains to
my lots, and should, I believe, be used as the
basis for flood plain determination rather than
the proposed documents. Subject survey should
support my claim as to non-flood plain status
for the majority of the lot area.
I believe this appeal is made within the permitted
timeframe and on the proper basis (technical data)
to be submitted in the form of an appeal to the
appropriate federal agency.
I have consulted the DNR staff in the preparation
of this appeal, and have reason to believe they
are in support of this appeal.
Please contact me immediately at 831-1616 if
omissions exist to this appeal in order that I
may revise same.
End of letter
P4r. PZcCleary continued by stating that he has
applied for a dredging permit from the DNR and
wants to proceed with dredging as soon as possible.
2Iayor Van Nest commented that there appears to
be a conflict with your proosed commercial
dock in front of residential property and this
conflict with the zoning line has to be resolved;
also this intent to dredge will have to be
clarified with the DNR.
(Continued)
