Fiow many people will attend?
' Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .

Dick Benson, City Administrator, reviewed a LIQUOR STORE RENT
letter from Lorraine McGowan, Liquor Store
. Manager, which states that:
Attached is a letter I received from Mr. Keaveny
regarding our lease at the liquor store. He
explained that he had just gotten the assessment
figures and this increase is necessary at this
time. He also said he should have some figures
• this week or next on the space and building
we previously talked to him about.
I do believe our original lease with IDS was
reasonable but the $25 . 00 increase per year
since 1970 was not a realistic increase. In
January 1977, our increase was $200 per month„
making our rent $875. Now, in July, another
$125 making a total increase for the last six
• months $325. This makes a total increase of
$3, 150 for 1977. Our 1977 budget was set for
a $1, 500 increase. If we break the increase
down over seven years, it is an increase of
$450 per year, which is out of line I think.
One point of consideration is the fact that this
does include heating, maintenance, and repairs
• on the furnace and air conditioner plus parking
lot repairs, etc.
As you know, I have cut all possible expenses,
expecially the ayroll to the bare minimum, so
any increases in expenses now are non-control-
lable and we have to increase our sales and profit.
(Continued)
