i
• REGULAR 21EETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JUi1E 13 , 19 7 7 Page 4 2
, Henry tZuhich, Building & Zoning Administrator, STATUS REPORTS
informed the City Council that the following
tems were being reviewed by the Planning
Commission for Council action at a later date:
 Jack Rhode, 1410 Bohn' s Point Road, variance;
. Don Gustafson, 2683 North Shore Drive, conditional use
permit & wetlands variance; Home Federal Savings &
 Loan Association, 493 Park Lane, variance;
Donald Scott, 200 Willow Drive South, subdivision;
 Duane Hall, 700 North Arm Drive, variance; John
Kubasch, 1179 Plorth Arm Drive, variance; Carman
 Cove Association, conditional use permit; Linda
+ Skartvedt, 537 Park Lane, variance.
 Mr. Greg Frank, City Engineer, informed the City ORONO-LONG LAKE
 Council that Hennepin County has approved the INTERCEPTOR LOCATION
location of the Orono-Long Lake interceptor as per
 a letter received from David M. Feltl, Utilities
Engineer, dated May 26 , 1977, which states that:

• Hennepin County has reviewed the request from the
City of Orono in regard to the relocation of the
 proposed interceptor sewer on CSAH 15 .
 In order to comply with all the City' s concerns , we
agree that the location of the force main would
have to fall somewhere within the mat of the
• travelled roadway. After some discussion and review
in the field, it was determined that the best
 location in this case would be down the centerline
of CSAH 15. The location would eliminate all
 the concerns as expressed in the City of Orono' s
letter in addition to having the following advantages :

Uniformity of location along the entire route on CSAH 15

` Would leave an unobstructed path for future utility
installations
 Would locate the manholes outside of the wheel track_s

Would eliminate the need for lane closures for
 maintenance on the manholes
 Provides for a more uniform excavation, backfill and
 coripaction technique within the roadbed.
 The installation of the forcemain at the location
described above would have to be contingent on the
 following:
That the project be coordinated with the reconstruction
of the Tanager Lake Bridge scheduled for the spring of
1978.
 (Continued)
