� <br /> • � R�GULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, MAY 23, 1977 Page 45 <br /> � Henry P4uhich, Building & Zoning Administrator, NAVARRE D�IVE-IN THEATRE <br /> informed the City Council that the Navarre Drive- <br /> � In Theatre has had several uncontrollable <br /> situations develop on their premises during the <br /> � past three weeks which is affecting the health, <br /> • saf_ety and welfare of patrons and residents of � <br /> the area. <br /> � Police Chief Mel Kilbo informed the City Council <br /> � that the Navarre Drive-In Theatre is having <br /> probleMs with: <br /> � <br /> • l. Parking <br /> 2. Unauthorized admittance <br /> � 3. Drinking on premises <br /> 4. Fights <br /> � 5. Noise <br /> 6. Inadequate police protection <br /> • <br /> � - . <br /> � Mr. Lebewitz, Navarre Drive-In Theatre Manager, <br /> � commented that the theatre has attempted to show <br /> proper movies but we have had some problems <br /> � handling patrons and have witnessed a person <br /> with a gun and a knife. <br /> � � <br /> � Mayor Van Nest commented that it is obvious that <br /> � there is a definite lack of management and reviwed <br /> the twelve conditions that were originally stipulated <br /> � with the issuance of the license, which state that: <br /> � l. Reaulations of Operations: The shows will <br /> not start before 7 : 30 P.M. or at dusk. <br /> • 2. Control of Traffic: When the traffic is at <br /> � the heaviest, the management will have enough <br /> employees on duty to get patrons in expeditiously. <br /> � 3. Exit and Entry Lights: A new manager has <br /> been hired and will keep everything in good <br /> � repair at all times. <br /> 4. Time of r4ovie Closing: Closing time is normally <br /> • 1: 00 A. M. and 2 : 00 A. M. when daylight time is <br /> in effect. <br /> � 5. Screening Fence: There is a growth of trees <br /> � between the theatre and the residential area <br /> and to the east is a commercial section and <br /> � considering that they are both in business <br /> at different times, there will be no problem. <br /> � 6.
