REGUL?�R MEETIiiG OF THE ORONO COUNCIL rZkRCH 28 , 1977 Page 18 <br /> D� ck Benson, City Administrator, informed the City HENNEPIN COUNTY CRIMInTA <br /> Council that he has received the following letter JUSTICE - Appointrr�ents <br /> rrom the Henne�in County Criminal Justice Council <br /> c:ated March 15, 1977 : <br /> On January 14 , 1977, the r.iinimum require;nents for <br /> the re-establishment of the Hennepin County Criminal <br /> Justice Coordinating Council (HCCJCC) were r.�et <br /> with the execution of the Joint Resolution of <br /> � participation by Hennepin County, the city of <br /> r•iinneapolis and 24 suburban municipalities (Plezse <br /> refer to the encl ��cd list of �articipatinq units <br /> of governn�ent) . <br /> In addition Lo the two suburban city �„Gnaaers/ <br /> administrators and the two suburban police chiefs , <br /> the Opexational Bylaws of the Coordinating Council <br /> call for representation on the Council by "four <br /> � individuals , either mayors or members of suburban <br /> ciLy councils , elected, through r.�ailed nominations <br /> and ballots, by mayors and council mertbers of <br /> participating local uniLs of government. " The <br /> purpose of this correspondence is to determine vour <br /> interest in serving as one of the four elected f <br /> suburban representatives on the Council. Following <br /> this solicitation of self-noninations from all <br /> �nayors and council ���embe,-s of participating suburban <br /> � local units of govern_nent,a ballot will be prepared <br /> and mailed to all member municipality nayors and <br /> council nembers for the purpose of electing the <br /> four representatives. <br /> S Eliaible mayors and council meribers are urged to <br /> consider serving as a suburban representative on <br /> ,� the IiCC,7C, which has been established "as a forum <br /> through which local units of government in Hennepin <br /> County may, by association, consultation and study, <br /> cooperatively pror�ote improvements in the criminal <br /> justice system which trans�nd departr_ients , agencies <br /> and the geographic boundaries of the individual <br /> comr.lunities. " With primary responsii�ility for the <br /> , conduct of the federal Law Enforcement Assistance <br /> Administration program in I�ennepin County, the 26- <br /> mer,tber Coordinating Council aenerally meets on a <br /> �nonthly basis--historically these meetings have <br /> ' been held at 10 : 00-12 : 00 a.m. on the first Z�ednesday <br /> of each month.
