Subdivision & platting ordinance Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . � Mayor Van Nest informed the City Council that LEAGUE OF LAKE CITIES the City is in receipt of a letter from Tim Lovaasen, Mayor of Mound, which states: � March 7, 1977 * On February 10, 1977 at the lOth Anniversary Party for the Metro Council , I talked to the Mayor of Shorewood, Steve Frazier. We spoke about the numerous problems each city had to deal with and agreed that many of these problems were identical for those cities in the lake area. We came to the conclusion that a League of Lake Cities was needed to aid us in working with the County, State and Federal governments in the areas of financial assistance and legislation. ?nitially, the purpose of this league would be to dentify the common needs for all the members. Once this was accomplished, the logical action would be to write up the proposed legislation and lobby as a group, to urge the passage of our legislation. As a league, we could lobby for needed changes or improvements from the County. It is suggested . that the league be rnade up of either all the mayors or a combination of the mayors and-councilmen from � the lake cities. I would appreciate your cooperation by discussing this with your councilmen and then contacting me with your comments, suggestions or contributions , to this idea. I can be reached by letter at the Mound City Hall or you can contact me personally S at home (phone number is 472-5486) . I am looking forward to an early reply. ' End of letter Mayor Van Nest and the City Council indicated strong � support for this concept. Mayor Van Nest will contact Mayor Lovaasen as soon as possible. �
