The City of Orono policy, as in <br /> e past because of not having the po�aer to <br /> � egulate Lake T�iinnetonka, has relayed the following <br /> policy concerning Lake Minnetonka . water related <br /> � calls to all personnel which states that when the <br /> Police Department is dispatched to an emergency <br /> � taking place on the lake, the officer is to have <br /> the dispatcher contact a Hennepin County Sheri�f <br /> � unit that has capability to respond on the lakee <br /> ! If the situation is of a non-emerqency nature, <br /> the officer is to have the dispatcher contact an <br /> ,� appropriate Hennepin County unite <br /> • If the Hennepin� County Sheriff's Office cannot <br /> or �vill not respond, this department will take <br /> � only what action can be taken from shore, as � <br /> � we are not trained, staffed or equipped to <br /> respond to water related calls. <br /> � An initial complaint report is needed on each <br /> � incident as they will be filed separately. <br /> • In those situations nat specifically covered <br /> by the above policy, each officer should use <br /> � good judgment and common sense in carrying <br /> � out his duties; and, above all, take reasonable <br /> re for his own safety, <br /> � <br /> On other matters concerning activities on Lake <br /> ir�innetonka, the Lalce Asinnetonka Conservation <br /> District is being notified, City staff are <br /> �reviewing and pursuing other alternatives to <br /> �this policy. <br /> • <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, informed the ORONO-MINNETONIC� BEACH <br /> �City Council that the Orono-f�innetonka Beach INTERCEPTOR AGREEMENT <br /> interceptor agreement has been executed by the <br /> �City Administrator and Mayor as previously <br /> *directed by the City Councile <br /> �Dick Benson, City Administrator,informed the FIRE CONTRACT <br /> City Council that Long Lake has not clarified Orono-Long Lake <br /> �the entire proposed fire contract as previously <br /> requested and will arrange a meeting with <br /> •their committee at a later date. <br /> • <br /> ����ztler moved, P�lassengale seconded, to reappoint APPOINTIuIENTS <br /> o Paul Pesek and Diane Dunlap to the Planning Planning Commission <br /> �ommission for another three-year term.
