The addition will be used for
• storage of pottery and related supplies.
Searles moved, Paurus seconded, to approve
the conditional use permit for the Minnetonka
Art Center. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
•
Pr. Gerald Beach, City Forester, stated that DUTCH ELM DISEASE REPORT
he would estimate that the peak year of Dutch
r Elm disease in Orono might be 1980 or 1981,
and the peaY disease total in one year may
 approximate 8,000 elm trees.
' A_ estimated loss in 1977 would be 1,500 trees.
If the Council moves toward a $12.50 per tree
rebate, they should put a maximum amount per
w resident per year. If the State matches the
$12. 50 per tree, totaling $25.00, such a maximum
 could be $400.00.
s I understand it, the State will match the
.mount that the City will rebate per tree, as
.ong as the total does not exceed the cost of
 _emoval.
An added note: the 8,OOQ elm trees disease peak
i^ an estimate for trees over 6 inches in diameter.
There could be a considerable number of trees
less than that diameter. It then should be
` stated that the rebate applies only to trees
 over 6 inches in diameter.
 P•Zr.
