The � single dock license usage on Cr�stal Bay was � discussed as was the intent of the resolution approving the marina license, It was expressed � by Councilman Paurus that the marinas in general were very receptive to the new proposals � establishing green areas and replanting areas adjacent to Lake I�Iinnetonka that had previously � been destroyed. It was noted that five of the eight marinas had conformed to the regulations � as requested. • • R2r. Paul Kempf asked why the City Council was concerned with the dock usage across from the � North Star Marina located on Crystal Bay stating that the boat docked at this location � is used for commercial p�irposes, customers board and unboard there in conjunction with the marina operation and felt that the boat, which is used for charter and rental, conforms with the intended use of the �rea. Mayor Searles • repeated the Minutes of May 24, 1971 stating the conditions subject to the approval of single � docic usage, � P,egular F�Teeting of the Orono Council, P"_ay 24, 1971e � 'Dorn moved, Searles seconded, that the request of the North Star Marina for a single dock � license on CY�ystal Bay be approved because of � the unique positioning of the property, the hardship due to the height restriction of the � bridges having access to AZaxwell Bay, and because of the prior license authorization for � a service dock on the Crystal Bay side of the roadway, and in recognition of the claim to • riparian ownership of the shoreline of Crystal Bay. � Tnat the dock be restricted to the use of one � watercraft and the licensee by accepting the permit acknowledges that the use cannot be � extended beyond one watercraft and that the watercraft be for the sole and private use • of the owner of the land and his guests or family and such use may not be commercial � or quasi-commercial in nature.
