The ductile iron pipe used for the water service piping shown on the submitted utility site plan shall comply <br /> with ANSI Standard A21.15 or A21.51 or AWWA Standard C115 or C151 (see Minnesota Rules,part <br /> 4715.0510). The quality standard is not specified for this material on the submitted plans. <br /> 23. The option of a plastic material for the water distribution is shown on Sheet No.P 1. If a plastic material <br /> will be used, then the materia(s)used for water distribution piping must cor►�ply with Minnesota Rules,part <br /> 4715.0520. <br /> If the installation of a cross-link polyethylene(PEX)tubing system will be used for the water distribution <br /> system,all of the following requirements must be met: <br /> a. The system must comply with ASTM Standard F877 and F876. <br /> b. The system must be installed by a plumber trained by the manufacturer of the particular PEX system to <br /> be installed. Certain manufacturers require installation by licensed plumbers who have been trained to <br /> install their material. <br /> c. All persons installing PEX materials shall have a card on their possession documenting completion of <br /> training by the manufacturer or his agent for the material to be installed. <br /> d. The tubing and fittings must be marked as required by the applicable standard specification and with the <br /> appropriate ASTM designations by the manufacturer. <br /> e. The installation must be in accordance with the manufacturer's installation guidelines. <br /> 24. The PVC plastic pipe material.to be used for the building sewer must meet one of the following <br /> ASTM Standards: D3034,F789,D2665, or F891. The installation must comply with ASTM <br /> Standard D2321 (see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.0530). <br /> 25. The reinforced concrete pipe specified for the storm drainage material must meet one of the following <br /> quality standards:ANSI C76,ASTM SS-P-375,or CSA-A257.2 (see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.0540). <br /> 26. All solder and flux used for the potable water distribution systems shall contain less than 0.2 percent lead. <br /> Use of 50-50 solder or flux containing more than 0.2 percent lead is prohibited in potable water distribution <br /> systems. Any solder other than 95-5 tin-antimony or 96-4 tin-silver must be specifically approved by the <br /> administrative authority prior to use(see Minnesota Statutes, Section 326371). Joints to be soldered must <br /> be properly fluxed with noncorrosive paste-type flux complying with ASTM Standard B813-00. <br /> 27. If plastic pipe is used for the drain, waste and vent system: <br /> a. ABS plastic pipe shall comply with ASTM Standard D 2661 or F 628. <br /> b. PVC plastic pipe shall comply with ASTM Standard D 2665,D 2949,F 891. <br /> c. It must be installed in accordance with Minnesota Rules,part 4715.0580(F)and part 4715.0600. <br /> Above-grade horizontal runs of plastic waste and vent pipe cannot exceed 35 feet in total length. <br /> Above-grade vertical stacks constructed of plastic pipe may exceed 35 feet in total height only if an <br /> approved expansion joint is used. <br /> d. Solvent weld joints in PVC and CPVC pipe must include use of a primer which is of contrasting color to <br /> the pipe and cement(see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.0810, subpart 2). <br /> 28. Cast iron is speci�ed on Sheet No.Pl of the submitted plans as an optional material for the drain, waste, <br /> and vent. If this material will be used,then it must meet the quality standards specified in Minnesota Rules <br /> part 4715.0570 through 4715.0600. <br />
