If the bathtub(s)has/have concealed slip-joint fittings,then an access panel,utility space, o other <br /> convenient access must be provided to make the slip joint connections accessible for inspe tion and repair <br /> (see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.1220, subpart 2). <br /> 11. Water closets located in the public bathrooms must have elongated bowls with open-front s ats. <br /> 12. In each single-or multiple-unit dwelling,each family unit shall be controlled by an arrang ent of shutoff <br /> valves which will permit each group of fixtures or the individual fixtures to be shut off wit out interference <br /> with the water supply to any other family unit or portion of the building(see Minnesota R es, <br /> part 4715.1800, subpart 5). <br /> 13. Potable water connections to boiler feed water systems,cooling systems,or other liquid sy tems in which <br /> water conditioning chemicals may be introduced shall be made through an air gap or be pr vided with an <br /> approved'backflow preventer located in the potable waterline before the point where such hemicals may be <br /> introduced(see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.1940). <br /> 14. The combination fire protection/domestic water service shall comply with the backflow pr tection <br /> requirements of AWWA-M14, Chapter 6(1990)with the exception that the following state ent is deleted <br /> from section 6.3: "At any time where the fire sprinkler piping is not an acceptable potable ater system <br /> material,there shall be a backflow-prevention assembly isolating the�re sprinkler system om the potable <br /> water system.° <br /> 15. The direct connection between a potable water supply and the lawn irrigation system shall e provided with <br /> an approved backflow preventer in accordance with Minnesota Rules,part 4715.2110,T,a d <br /> part 4715.2100. <br /> 16. Double wyes may not be used for drainage fittings in the horizontal position(see Minneso a Rules, <br /> part 4715.2420, subpart 3). Proper pipe slope cannot be maintained on both of the offset b anches. <br /> 17. The sump must be designed in accordance with Minnesota Rules,part 4715.2440. The fol owing items <br /> must be included in the construction of the sump: <br /> a. A gate valve and check valve must be provided on the sump pump discharge line,mus be accessible <br /> and lpcated outside of the sump. <br /> 18. The floor drain to receive the water softener discharge must be individually vented in acco dance with <br /> Minnesota Rules,part 4715.2620, subpart 4. <br /> 19. The roof drains must discharge to an approved place of disposal. In no case shall water fr m the roofs be <br /> allowed tio flow upon the public sidewalk. <br /> 20. 6-inch AWWA C900 PVC pipe is shown for the water service on the site utility plan, Shee No. C4.1,of the <br /> submitted plans,however,4-inch ductile iron pipe water service is shown on the floor pla s, Sheets No. P4 <br /> and P5. Please verify the size and material of the water service. <br /> 21. AWWA C900 PVC pipe may be used for the water service only if approved by administra ive authority(see <br /> Minnesota Rules,part 4715.0510 and part 4715.0330). <br />
