We will see how effectively this new builder in the community deals with this situation. We can only hope it will be
better than our past experiences the past 2 years on Maple Place & Minne Ave.
Thanks,
Andrew Mack, AICP
f`''` Community Development Director
j City of Orono Minnesota
, ` ,
 Direct 952.249.4626
.Y._.. amackCcilci.orono.mn.us
www.ci.orono.mn.us
From: Robert Bean [mailto:bobbe@bolton-menk.com]
Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2014 7:16 AM
To: Christine Mattson
Cc: Andrew Mack; Melanie Curtis; David P. Martini; Brian Simmons
Subject: 2014-01230 - 4166 Highwood Road
Christine,
I have completed review of the Building Permit application package for 4166 Highwood Road. Following are my
comments for City consideration:
1. The silt fence and rock construction entrance should be installed and inspected by the City prior to any land
disturbing activities. The Contractor must provide a minimum 24 hour notice prior to inspection.
2. Additional grading detail should be provided along the east property line to define a swale that directs runoff
north and south and not onto the adjacent property. Additional spot elevations and proposed contours should
be added as necessary to adequately define the swale.
3. A financial security of$2,500 from the Applicant is recommended for erosion control and engineering oversight.
The financial security is intended to provide protection in the event that it becomes necessary for the City to
install or maintain erosion and sediment control within the project area and covers the cost of vegetation re-
establishment if the applicant is unable to follow through with the conditions of approval.
4. The applicant may be required to obtain Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) approval and permitting
for their Erosion Control rule. A copy of any approved permit or confirmation that no permit is required should
be submitted prior to any land altering activities.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me to discuss.
Thanks,
Robert E.
