MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, July 11, 2011 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> Page 9 of 19 <br /> <br />(5. #10-3479 PHILLIP WHIPPLE, 3095 CASCO POINT ROAD, Continued) <br /> <br />Kellogg stated it would depend on where the hardcover would be removed. <br /> <br />McMillan indicated she is in agreement with Council Member Rahn. McMillan asked whether the <br />specific amount of hardcover in the 0-75 foot zone should be put in the resolution to help prevent <br />additional hardcover from appearing in that zone at some point in the future. <br /> <br />Rahn noted a deck is not allowed in that zone. <br /> <br />Bremer noted that area does not require a variance since it already exists. <br /> <br />McMillan requested the 0-75 foot zone hardcover be included in the resolution. <br /> <br />Sharratt asked if the application is tabled and they make the necessary changes, whether it would be <br />necessary to go back before the Planning Commission or whether they could come directly back to the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Curtis stated they could come back before the City Council but noted that an extension would be required <br />if the application process goes beyond the next city council meeting. <br /> <br />Rahn moved, Printup seconded, to table Application #10-3479, Phillip Whipple, 3095 Casco Point <br />Road, for redesign, at the request of the applicant. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*6. #11-3507 WILLIAM AND CYNTHIA BOWMAN, 450 WILLOW DRIVE SOUTH – <br />VARIANCES – RESOLUTION NO. 6056 <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6056, a Resolution Granting a <br />Variance to Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-420(B), for the property located at 450 Willow <br />Drive South. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*7. #11-3508 LEE AND LINDA WOTIPKA, 1205 DICKENSON STREET – VARIANCES – <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6058 <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6058, a Resolution Granting <br />Variances to Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-420(B) for the property located at 1205 Dickenson <br />Street. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT <br /> <br />*8. APPROVE REHABILITATION OF LIFT STATION #29 (754 TONKAWA ROAD) AND <br />GRINDER STATION #30 (998 PARTENWOOD ROAD) <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to accept the quotations in the amount of $57,342.75 from Quality <br />Flow Systems, In., of New Prague, Minnesota, for the upgrade to Grinder Station 30 (988 <br />Partenwood Road) and Lift Station 29 (754 Tonkawa Road).
