MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, September 9, 2013 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> Page 4 of 11 <br />(LMCD REPORT – ANDREW MCDERMOTT, REPRESENTATIVE, Continued) <br /> <br />McDermott stated they will be learning safe boating techniques as well as the rules of the lake. <br /> <br />Levang asked if there were any problems with the harvesting equipment. <br /> <br />McDermott stated there were not any problems with the harvesting equipment. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS – KEVIN LANDGRAVER, REPRESENTATIVE <br /> <br />Landgraver reported the Planning Commission is starting to see more applications due to the improving <br />economy and nicer weather. There has been good participation from the Planning Commissioners <br />attending work sessions and meetings. The Planning Commission is currently working on the draft of the <br />alternative energy ordinance and Staff is pretty close to finalizing the draft. Landgraver indicated they <br />hope to have something for the Council and the public to review and comment on in the next month or <br />two. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />PLANNING DEPARTMEN REPORT <br /> <br />*5. #13-3619 JESSICA AND PAUL WARNER, 1380 BRIAR STREET – VARIANCES – <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6319 <br /> <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6319, a Resolution Granting <br />Variances from Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-420, for the property located at 1380 Briar <br />Street. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*6. #13-3625 WJM PROPERTIES, LLC, 2605 WAYZATA BOULEVARD – RENEW <br />INDUSTRIAL SITE PLAN APPROVAL – RESOLUTION NO. 6320 <br /> <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6320, a Resolution Granting <br />Industrial Site Plan Approval for WJM Properties, LLC, for the property located at 2605 Wayzata <br />Boulevard. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT <br /> <br />7. NAVARRE STREET LIGHTS – DESIGN SERVICE PROPOSALS <br /> <br />McMillan stated the one question she had was whether the street light options would be priced out on the <br />bids. <br /> <br />Struve stated based on the comments from the last Council meeting, he is planning to have Option 1 and <br />Option 2 bid out to see what the cost difference is between the two options. Bolton and Menk will also <br />put together a preliminary cost estimate based on Spring Park’s costs.
