MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, February 13, 2012 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> Page 15 of 22 <br /> <br />(10. #12-3541 KC CHERMAK ON BEHALF OF ROBB AND TINA RICHTER – 3508 IVY <br />PLACE, Continued) <br /> <br />Public Works Department would like the plants near the culvert to be rearranged to allow for cleaning of <br />the culvert. Curtis indicated a 6-foot wide opening by 10-foot deep opening would allow for easier <br />cleaning. <br /> <br />The Council should review the request and adopt or amend the resolution granting the variances. In <br />addition, the Council should discuss the proposed landscaping plan. <br /> <br />Franchot asked whether there would be less structure with the new house as well as less hardcover on the <br />property under this proposal. <br /> <br />Curtis indicated there would be less structure and that the hardcover will also be reduced. The little shed <br />will be removed. The driveway will be located solely off of Ivy Place. <br /> <br />McMillan asked if the neighborhood uses that fire lane. <br /> <br />Curtis indicated it is utilized at the present time by the neighbors and for drainage. In the future that area <br />may need to be improved as it relates to the drainage. <br /> <br />KC Chermak, Pillar Homes, stated he does not have anything to add to staff’s report. Chermak indicated <br />he does not have an issue with moving the grasses. Chermak commented they worked hard on this <br />application and had good feedback from Staff. <br /> <br />Bremer moved, Rahn seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6112, a Resolution Granting <br />Variances to Municipal Zoning Code Sections 78-350, 78-1279, and 78-1288, for the property <br />located at 3508 Ivy Place, subject to Public Works’ recommendations on the landscaping. VOTE: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*11. RYAN COMPANIES – CRYSTAL BAY BUSINESS CENTER, PARTIAL RELEASE OF <br />ENCROACHMENT AGREEMENT – AGREEMENT <br /> <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to authorize Mayor McMillan and City Clerk Vee to sign the <br />Partial Release of Encroachment Agreement for Lot 1, Block 1, Crystal Bay Business Center 2nd <br />Addition (550 Old Crystal Bay Road North). <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT <br /> <br />City Engineer Martini stated he had nothing to report. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br /> <br />Rahn asked what the status is of the hardcover ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Item #02 - CC Agenda - 02/27/2012 <br />Approval of Council Minutes 02/13/2012 [Page 15 of 22]
