Section 26-31 De�nitions of the City of Orono Municipal Code is <br /> hereby amended by adding the following text: <br /> Rent shall mean, for the purpose of this definition, leasin�x, subleasin , l�g or hiring for <br /> occupanc� <br /> Short-term rental shall mean the rental to a person or r�oup of persons a residential unit for a <br /> period of less than thirtv(301 consecutive calendar da,ys in a zonin�district where residential <br /> uses are allowed. <br /> Short-term rental propertv means a parcel of real property and includes the premises upon which <br /> a short-term rental unit is located and the�arkine areas,driveways, landscapine,accessorX <br /> structures, fences,walls,swimrning pools, hot tubs, and spas. <br /> SECTION 2. Article N.--Shart Term Rentals of the City of Orono Municipal <br /> Code is hereby added by adding the following text: <br /> Section 26-80—Short term rental <br /> (a) Required. It is unlawful for an�person to rent their property for a period less than <br /> 30 days without first havin�obtained a Business License as outtined in Article II <br /> of this chabter. fSection 26, para�raphs 31 throu� <br /> (b) Re lation. No license mav be issued unless all of the followin�are com lp ied <br /> with: <br /> 1. The owner shall ensure that the occupants and guests of a short term rental unit do <br /> not create unreasonable noise or disturbances engage in disorderly conduct or <br /> violate provisions of the City of Orano Code or any State law pertaining to noise, <br /> disorderly conduct,overcrowdin�, the consumption of alcohol,or the use of <br /> ille¢ai dru�s. Owners are expected to take anv measures necessary to abate <br /> disturbances includin�,but not limited to directing the occupants and auests of a <br /> short term rental unit to cease the disturbing conduct,removin�the occu�ant and! <br /> or uests or takin�v other action necessarv to immediatelv abate the <br /> disturbance. <br /> Page I of 3 <br />
