Sectlon 2-12 Because we have ncivll amenities all renters are requlred to take thelr garbage with
them when they feave.A large garbage can with a plestk bag 4s provided as a collection receptacle for
them to bag up the garbage for this function.
SectEon 2-13 The owner is on the deed as the designated trustee of the family trust.
Some ather thoughts are that Big Island htstorically has been a destinatlon, whether it is familles
enjoying their cabins or when the Amusemerrt park ested or as it was transfonned into the Veterans
Camp people have always en)oyed it under a short term basls.
Whlch leads to the question that sina the Three Rhrers Park Qistrict has JuNsdlctionver both the
properties the County has bought up over the years as wel!as the Veteran's Camp property which the
Gty of Orono now owns, how does this affect the Distrlcts ability to ff they so choose Irthe future to
upen the Veterans Camp or their other areas of the Island to camping for a fee, thls would fall under
short terrriental far all practical purposes.Would this ordinance corfilct with that and who woultl be
asslgned to faciEitate tha, alang with enforcement?!have never seen any police representatlon fram
the Orono police force nr the Three River Police farce an the island. The only r+epresentativn that
responds to calls currently is the Hennepin County Sherfff Water Patrol whlch atready has their hands
fuli due to tfie activity on the waber.
How does this Impact the Power Squadron Praperty, they esseMially are collecNng a fre from members
wflch in turn are allowed to cemp overnight on the property, how will this proposed ampndment effect
then in fairness to haw the rest of the properties are affected.
ff a rented boat Is moored, anchored to or besched on the island and its oCcupants are staying overnlght
woufdn't that fall under thls ordlnance as we1{?Haw would that be enforced
We understand the implications of having a shart terrrrental In neighborhoods with smeller bts that
have had larger homes constructed/reconstructed on thern, has a hlgher level for the potential for
neighboring properties to be concerned and thus contributing to the cits desire to regulate these
activiNes is justifled. I would i{ke ta ask that consideratlan be made to exempt the fsland from this
ordinanee based upon the hlstorical use and acthrlties of the island properties, wtth regard to the ltems
mentioned above and tie eblllty to apply them equatly to all the properties on the island. Due to these
hlstorical, current and possEble prejected uses in the future It would seem that an exceptlon would be
suiLed for the island properttes.
Thank you for consideration of these Issues as It applia to the current amendment proposal anrl the
request to exernpt the island propertles form the proposal.
