PC Memo of 5/15/14
Background
The applicants were granted variance and CUP approvals to construct a new residence via
Resolution No. 6407 on June 9, 2014. While they have been issued permits and begun
construction on the home based on the approved site plan, they are_roposing a site plan
revision regarding the front parking stall along Crystal Bay Road. That stall was approved
in the location of the pre-existing detached garage, but is now being proposed as a parallel
stall to the road, requiring an amendment of the approved site plan.
The originally approved proposal included retention of the existing fieldstone-faced
concrete retaining walls abutting Crystal Bay Road, removal of the underground garage, and
construction of a new concrete rear retaining wall within the gazage footprint. That wall
would have been approximately 8-1/2 feet high and would have required fencing or similar
barrier at the top for safety purposes.
