, , r <br /> , ti .. . <br /> ORDIP�ANCE NO. !O , 2ND SERIES <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA, AMENDING ORONO CITY CODE � <br /> CHAPTER 9 ENTITLED "PUBLIC PROTECTION, CRZMES, AND OFFENSES" BY ADDING <br /> A PROVISION AS TO CIVIL EMERGENCIES: GENERAL PROVISIONS; AND, BY ADOPTII� <br /> BY REFERENCE, CITY CflDE CHAPTER 1 AND SECTION 9.99 WHICH, AMONG OTHER <br /> THINGS, CONTAIN PENALTY PROVISIONS. <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAIN�: <br /> Section 1 . Oro�a City Code Chapter 9 is hereby amended by adding <br /> a Section, to read: <br /> 9 . 36 . CIVIL EMERGENCIES: GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> SUBD. 1. Policv and Purpose. C'hapters 90 through 93 dealing <br /> with Civil Emergencies are enacted in conformity with the <br /> Minnesota Civil Defense Act, as amended, so that Orono will <br /> be fully prepared in advance to meet civil emergencies which <br /> may occur in the- future. <br /> SUBD. 2. DEFINITIONS. When used in Chapters 90 through 93, <br /> the following terms shall mean: <br /> (a) Civil Emeraencies .� The preparation for and carrying <br /> out of all emergency functions , other than functions <br /> for which military forces are primarily responsible, <br /> to prevent , minimize and repair injury and damage <br /> resulting from disasters caused by enenty attack, <br /> sabotage, or other enemy hostile action, or from fire, <br /> flood, earthquake, or other natural causes . <br /> (b) Civil Emerqencv. An emergency declared by the governor <br /> under Minnesota Statutes dealing with Civil Defense. <br /> � � <br /> (c) Civil Emercrency Forces . Personnel employed by the <br /> City and any other volunteer or paid member of the <br /> local emergency services agency engaged in carrying <br /> � on civil emergency functions . <br /> SUBD. 3. Emercrency Services Avencv. There is hereby created <br /> within the City government, an Emergency Services Agency which <br /> shall be .under the supervision and control of•.a Director <br /> of Emergency Services , hereinafter called �he Director.
