7 <br />484259v3 AMB MN415-1 <br /> <br />9.3. Agents will be responsible for drug investigation, including intelligence <br />management, case development, and case charging. Agents may also assist other <br />agents in surveillance and undercover operations. Task Force agents will work <br />cooperatively with assisting agencies. Assigned officers acting under this <br />agreement in the jurisdiction of another party to this agreement are acting in the <br />line of duty and in the course of employment and are authorized to exercise the <br />powers of a peace officer therein. <br /> <br />9.4. The Governmental Unit appointing the Agent shall furnish the Agent a weapon, <br />vehicle, computer, and pay any lease payments, insurance, major maintenance, <br />and/or other equipment. Clerical assistance will be furnished by member agencies <br />and/or through the annual budget. <br /> <br />10. Forfeiture, Seizures and Fines. Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes,§ 609.531, the Task Force <br />members are entitled to money or proceeds from the sale of forfeited property after <br />payment of seizure, storage, forfeiture and sale expenses and satisfaction of valid liens <br />against forfeited property. It is agreed by Task Force members that forfeiture monies and <br />proceeds shall be distributed equally after deduction of all costs and expenses herein stated. <br />The receipt and disbursement of forfeiture sale proceeds shall be referenced in the <br />Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Accounting Division's quarterly financial report <br />disseminated to the Task Force supervisor and member agencies in accordance with 6.6. <br /> <br />11. Headquarters. The Task Force is physically located in separate offices at a location <br />agreed upon by the Board. Rent shall be paid from Task Force funds. All utilities, <br />including electricity, heat, air conditioning, and the like shall be included in the cost of <br />rent. <br /> <br />12. Additional Members and Change in Membership <br /> <br />12.1. Any City sharing a common boundary with any department listed in paragraph <br />3 may join the Task Force and become a member upon approval and execution <br />of a copy of this Agreement by such department and approval by a majority of <br />the Directors. <br /> <br /> <br />12.2. In any case in which a City identified in paragraph 3 joins the Task Force after <br />the effective date of this agreement or any other City joins the Task Force <br />pursuant to paragraph 12.1, contributions by and reimbursement to such members <br />shall be equitably determined and adjusted by the Board to reflect the <br />participation by that member for less than one full year. The decision of the <br />Board shall be final. <br /> <br />12.3. Each Governmental Unit, upon ninety (90) days' written notice to all member <br />agencies, may withdraw and cancel its participation in this Agreement. The <br />members by mutual written consent may abolish this Agreement at any time.
