MINUTES OF THE ORONO CITY COUNCIL Monday, July 23, 2012 7:00 o'clock p.m. ROLL CALL The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Doug Franchot, Aaron Printup, and David Rahn. Representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, City Clerk Lin Vee, Finance Director Ron Olson, Assistant City Administrator of Long -Term Strategic Planning Michael Gaffron, Planning Coordinator Melanie Curtis, City Engineer/Public Works Director Jesse Struve, Consulting Engineer David Martini, City Attorney Soren Mattick, and Recorder Jackie Young. Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Item Nos. 4-6 and 8-10 were added to the Consent Agenda. Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. APPROVAL OF MINUTES *2. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 9, 2012 Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of July 9, 2012, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS - LIZZ LEVANG, REPRESENTATIVE Levang reported that the Planning Commission met last week and that one of the issues they ran into when evaluating applications was whether they should be evaluated under the proposed hardcover ordinance or under the current ordinances. The Planning Commission decided to operate under the current regulations rather than attempting to speculate on when the proposed ordinance would be adopted. Levang stated the Planning Commission looked at a sketch plan for the Lein property located on County Road 6 and the north end of Old Crystal Bay Road. The property owner is looking at dividing it into four parcels and is proposing a new road access. Levang noted the Planning Commission also placed the Old Orchard Farm application on their consent agenda. PUBLIC COMMENTS None Page 1 of 5 0
