MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />• MEETING HELD ON JULY 28,1997 <br />( #18 REVISIONS TO NON -UNION PAY STRUCTURE Continued) <br />Jabbour asked if the proposed revisions were to add steps in the system to cover areas <br />where employees might not be covered. Moorse said this was true. <br />Jabbour moved, Kelley seconded, to approve the proposed revisions to the non -union <br />pay structure to add a point grouping and related pay range between each of the top four <br />point groupings in the pay structure. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( * #19) POSITION RECLASSIFICATION - MICHAEL GAFFRON <br />Goetten moved, Peterson seconded, to approve a reclassification of the Senior Planning <br />Coordinator position to level 11 of the City's pay structure and to increase the salary of <br />the position to $50,398 effective January 1, 1997. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />• Jabbour commended Gaffron on his excellent job performance. <br />( #20) CITY LOGO SHIRTS <br />Moorse reported that the City would like to purchase polo shirts for staff as part of their <br />staff appreciation activities. He asked Council if they would like to make the shirts <br />available to the Council, volunteer commissions, and possibly for sale to the general <br />public. <br />Council informed Moorse that the Council members will pay for their own shirts. They <br />approved of the idea of providing the shirts to the Park and Planning Commissioners. <br />Council thought this was a good team effort. <br />Goetten moved, Peterson seconded, to approve the purchase of City logo shirts for the <br />volunteer commissions, along with an inventory for resale to Orono residents, with <br />authorization for the funding to come from the contingency account.
