Z <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MAY 23, 1988 <br />CONTINUATION OF HIGHWOOD ROAD AREA <br />Mayor Grabek asked what it would cost to televise <br />the existing pipe to determine its condition. <br />.F Cook stated it would cost around $1,000 to televise <br />the pipe. <br />Councilmember Sime asked Mr. Sauer and Mr. Baxter <br />how many times they have had water in the basement. <br />Mr. Sauer stated that in 18 years he had never <br />received damage in the basement, only exterior <br />damage. Mr. Baxter stated he had water in the <br />basement only one time. <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek-, seconded by <br />Councilmember Sime to inspect the existing pipe and <br />if there is additional work that needs to be <br />undertaken for a 5 year storm design capacity. <br />Councilmember Callahan asked who owned the existing <br />line. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson stated the line was <br />• privately owned by Mr. McCurdy. <br />Mr. McCurdy stated he would allow the televising of <br />the pipe but did not want any digging on his <br />property. <br />Councilmember Sime asked Mr. McCurdy if after <br />televising the line and it is determined that the <br />line needs repair, would you allow repair if the <br />City restores your property. <br />McCurdy and Vongries stated that they would allow <br />the City to make repairs to the line if it is <br />determined that is necessary and the City would <br />restore their property. <br />Mr. Vongries stated that if it is determined that <br />the entire line must be repaired he would not agree <br />to repair. <br />Mayor Grabek stated that if the entire line needs <br />to-be replaced then this project would be brought <br />back to the Council prior to any work being <br />undertaken. <br />Amended motion by Mayor Grabek, seconded by <br />• Councilmember Sime to televise the existing line <br />for a cost not to exceed $1,000 and to get written <br />5 <br />
